Slot Machines Open At Gulfstream Park

Months of anticipation come to an end Wednesday, probably just a few ticks after noon, when guests of Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino get their chance to play the first real slots in Florida. The Casino doors at the new Gulfstream Park open at 12 sharp, opening a new era in South Florida gaming. “This is the culmination of a great effort from many, many people,” said Gulfstream Park President Paul Micucci. “I’m very proud to be involved with such dedicated and tireless people.”

The Casino at Gulfstream Park will be open from noon to midnight Wednesday, with simulcasting available beginning at 6 p.m. On Thursday The Casino will prepare for a by-invitation-only showcase extravaganza starting at 8 p.m. The Casino will begin a seven-day-a-week schedule Friday. Hours are noon-midnight Sundays through Thursdays and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
